Learn the FUN-damentals of Figure Skating

The Cortland Figure Skating Club’s Learn to Skate program is great for everyone… whether it’s your first step on the ice or you just want to improve your skating skills. Getting started is easy and fun, and after one lesson you’ll be hooked!


Learn to Skate Program

Our Learn to Skate program provides group lessons for ages 4+ and all abilities. Skaters receive a 30 minute group lesson with an instructor, guided by the United Skates Figure Skating Association Basic Skills program. There is also 15 minutes of free time for the students to practice what they have learned. 


Days & Times
We offer two separate days of Learn to Skate lessons.  Skaters may choose to participate on only one day or may chose to skate both days.  Days and times are:

WEDNESDAYS    6:30pm-  7:15pm
SATURDAYS     12:00pm-12:45pm

Skaters are grouped together by age and ability.  Two 8-week sessions are offered.  At the end of each 8-week session, each skater will go through a skill test to establish her/his official USFSA Basic Skills skating level.

Session 1:
Wednesday, October 14th – Wednesday, December 16th
Saturday, October 17th – Saturday, December 19th 

Session 2:
Wednesday, January 6th – Wednesday, March 3rd
Saturday, January 9th – Saturday, March 6th 

Rates
The following prices include membership in the United States Figure Skating Association Basic Skills Program.  Payment in full is due by the first day of each session.
Rates for Each 8-Week Session
1 day per week $ 130.00 
2 days per week $ 240.00 
Second family member receives a 10% discount.

Registration
Registration dates are:
Wednesday, October 13th from 6:30-7:15pm or
Saturday, October 16th from 12:00-12:45pm at the McDonald Sports Complex

Your Learn to Skate student can skate for free during registration.  Bring your skates or get a free skate rental at the Sports Complex!!
